Patient Information

New Patient Registration:

You want to keep your teeth and you've just been told your gums aren't so healthy or you've got pockets somewhere other than on your pants and shirt. You may be missing teeth, have infection or other related difficulties. On top of that, you've been told you need to go see a PERIODONTIST (bone and gum specialist).

Your dentist has referred you to visit our office to determine what periodontal problems are present and to see what is possible to help you enjoy the benefits of long term dental health. We will find out what your long term dental goals include so we know what results you want. We normally gather information so we can evaluate it and design a plan to help you achieve your dental goals.

What do you do now?

  • If you are having an immediate problem, we will treat this first so you can be comfortable, then determine why this occurred and let you know how you can prevent this from happening again in the future.

  • If you are not having an immediate problem, your first visit will be a fact finding and discovery mission.

If you contact our office for a reserved time, you will receive in the mail a packet of information about your visit and a new patient registration form with health history that we will ask you to fill out and bring to your first visit. Any team member will be happy to assist you with making any appointments.

Appointments:

We see all patients on an appointment basis and ask that you call in advance so that we may reserve a time for you. We make every effort to accommodate your busy schedule. Rarely is a periodontal treatment provided on the initial visit, unless there is an emergency.

For additional important information regarding your initial visit (new patient exam) with us, please read the section under the heading "New Patient Registration" on this page.

Digital X-Rays:

We are proud to offer our patients digital radiography. Digital x-rays are computer generated images and less radiation than conventional x-rays. By utilizing digital radiography, the doctor and hygienist can view your teeth and surrounding tissues instantaneously. The computer allows us to highlight, magnify, enlarge, invert and contrast the images thereby detecting possible abnormalities or defects sooner than ever before.

Financial Arrangements:

We make every effort to keep down the cost of your dental care. We ask that our patients take care of the fees for the initial visit. If your treatment program requires a series of visits, you will be given an estimate, and asked to plan your treatment with a member of our business office staff. We have a variety of flexible plans to assist you in budgeting your investment in your oral health.

Insurance:

We have found that due to the plan limitations placed by insurance companies, dental plans no longer pay 100% of your dental investment. The percentage of plan coverage will be based on the dental insurance company's own reduced fee schedule and may be less than the actual investment. Dental plans are now designed to minimize their costs and hold down your premiums. We have a variety of ways to help our patients financially so they may enjoy the benefits of long term dental health and not be limited by their dental plans. As a courtesy to our patients, our office staff will help you process your dental claim forms and will assist you in knowing the right questions to ask your dental insurance company about your treatment. Please have all your dental plan information with you at the time of your first visit.
