Hello, I’m Valerie. I have been employed with Dr. Hovious since November 1994.
I graduated from Whitley County High School in Williamsburg, Kentucky in 1983. In 1984 I became on orthodontic assistant and in 1985 entered dental hygiene school at Western Kentucky University graduating with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene in 1987.
I married my high school sweetheart and moved to Louisiana to live with my husband who was active duty in the U.S. Army. After getting my state license to practice dental hygiene in Louisiana, I worked full time in a periodontal practice from July 1989 to April 1993
in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
My husband was sent to Fort Hood, Texas. After taking my third state board. I worked for six months in Texas.
My husband got out of the Army in 1994. We saw this as an opportunity to actually pick where we wanted to live. Knoxville was an easy choice. We were only one hour from our families in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
My husband and I have two beautiful daughters, Alexa born April 1997 and Sarah born October 2000.
My hobbies include traveling, aerobics and spending time with my family.
