Hi! I am Dr. Lee Ann Hovious and I want to welcome you to my practice. I grew up in Madisonville, Kentucky, a small town in the western part of the state.

When I was 16-years old, I began working for a dentist in my hometown after school and I loved it. I enjoyed the interaction with the patients and helping them achieve their dental goals.

After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Kentucky, my parents’ alma mater, in the Dental Hygiene program. Upon completion, I practiced dental hygiene in a private practice and taught at the University of Kentucky Dental Hygiene school part-time.

With a dental hygiene background, and a love for periodontics, I went on to complete Dental School at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and Periodontal program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis for my post-doctoral residency.

My goal with serving our patients is to treat them with dignity and respect. Educating patients regarding their homecare and delivering a high quality of dentistry has always been important to me.

There are two things I love the most about the Knoxville area: the people and the beauty. My husband and I, with our two children, enjoy this area and all of the outdoor activities available such as swimming, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Professionally, I am an active member of the Second District Association, Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of Periodontology. I am a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the most advanced education and training that can be acquired in my profession. I have completed a preceptorship in dental implants at the Health Science Center at the University of Texas, San Antonio, and received my fellowship at the Misch International Implant Institute in dental implants – one of the top training facilities for dental implantology internationally. In addition, I am involved in community service such as student internship programs, volunteer for “Give Kids A Smile,” and treat Interfaith Health Clinic Patients.

I am involved in continuing education to help keep up with the rapid changes of the dental profession to provide my patients with knowledge and latest technology and techniques that modern dentistry has to offer. I am the director of our local study club, the Oral Design & Implant Study Club, an affiliate of the prestigiously known Seattle Study Club. I was honored to be nominated in 2012 for the Tennessee Dentist of the Year and to be nominated and inducted into the honorary dental organizations: The International College of Dentistry, The American College of Dentistry, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
